Ms. Salazar began her legal career at a prominent elder law firm on Long Island. There, she served as Senior Attorney and was responsible for all of the firm’s Elder Law, Guardianship, Real Estate, and Estate Administration matters. As lead attorney, she gained extensive experience assisting clients on elder law, estate planning, and estate administration matters, ranging from simple to complex issues.

Ms. Salazar established the Law Office of Claudia T. Salazar, P.C., in 2010. Her practice areas include Elder Law, Medicaid Planning, Trust and Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Guardianship. The firm has assisted clients throughout Long Island, the five boroughs, Westchester and Rockland County. Ms. Salazar has presented on Elder Law and Estate Planning topics to nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Ms. Salazar served as a legal intern with UNICEF’s child protection section during law school. At UNICEF, Ms. Salazar drafted summaries on international legal issues and legislative responses to child safety on the Internet, child trafficking, and gender based violence. Additionally she assisted with editing inter-agency country reports on child protection.

Prior to law school, Ms. Salazar was Associate Director of International Admissions at Adelphi University. In that role, Ms. Salazar developed and implemented University’s international student recruitment plan via recruitment trips through Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Ms. Salazar was born in Lima, Peru. She speaks Spanish fluently and has studied French, Italian, and Japanese. She enjoys traveling abroad.
